Keyword density is the number of times particular keyword was used in a webpage. Besides keyword density, it is also important to consider where these keywords are placed on the page. Your main goal is to make your target audience read the content and make them want to come back for more, so your content needs to be easy to read, hepful and informative. It should also present you as an expert in your niche.

Your potential customers often find your website through search engines. So, you have to provide your market with specific signs, which will help them reach your website and direct them to your landing page. If you use the right keywords, you will be able to drive lots of free web traffic to your website. Don’t use the keywords, which are too overused or too general, because this will decrease your traffic and your sales. So, the first step of your SEO campaign is to research keyword and keyword phrases and find the right ones.

Using too much of keywords can result in banning you from search engines and can be regarded as spam. It can also influence your email marketing campaign. Some overused keywords can get your mail directed to a junk folder and your target audience can never notice your efforts. You should research yuor keywords and make a list of some keywords and phases, which will likely attract more visitors interested in your products. After you have chosen your keywords, you should check their performance frequently.

Keyword density is expressed in percents of the word content in a particular web page. The keyword density should be about 3%-5% and you shouldn’t exceed this percentage. This is the rule for every page of your website and used for sets of keywords as well. You can calculate the percentage yourself or use special tools that will do it for you.

Keywords are the foundation of your SEO marketing strategy and you have to choose them carefully, because if you fail it won’t matter how commited you are to your marketing campaign. You might never be able to reach the right people with your offer. You should properly select and use keywords throughout your website content for search engines to index you and do the same thing with your articles, so that directories could accept them. Even if you are sure you know the right keywords for your website, still do the research, becasue its results may surprise you. You might find out that your market uses completely different words for searches. Try to think like your target audience and use the same words they use to find what they need. Then your SEO campaign will be effective and will generate the endless amount of traffic for your website.
